Cross Country teams compete at Battle Creek

Ten members of Summerland's junior high and high school cross country teams participated in the Battle Creek Invite, Sept. 29.

In the junior high boys' division, Bryce Rudloff led the squad with a 20th-place finish. Zander Cepel ended 24th, Lakin Cleveland, 47th and Jorden Cox, 56th.

Homer claimed the junior high boys' title, earning 18 points.

In the high school boys' division, Alex Thiele finished in 22:01.02, placing 42nd. Jesse Thiele ended in 55th, running 23:08.26. Sixty-five runners completed the course.

Bloomfield-Wausa took home the team trophy, with 37 points.

Aislynn Kester paced the high school girls' team, finishing 24th. She completed the course in 25:31.81.

Carlee Livingston ended in 29th place, with a time of 25:52.74. Danielle Schrunk placed 39th, running 27:55.22. Shaylie Kester ran 28:48.92, ending 42nd in the pack of 49 runners.

Overall, the girls ended in seventh place, with 110 points. Homer won the team title, scoring 26 points.

Both junior high and high school runners will compete in the conference meet, Oct. 7, at the Atkinson-Stuart Country Club, at 4 p.m.
