Visitors will receive a Royal welcome this weekend, as the village of Royal celebrates its community days. Events begin Friday, July 15 and continue Saturday, July 16.
A euchre tournament will be held Friday at Royal Bar & Grill, beginning at 7:30 p.m. Entry free is $5 per person, with prizes awarded for first, second and third place.
On Saturday, registration for the annual tractor ride will be held from 10:30 a.m. to noon at Royal Bar & Grill. A light lunch will be provided for a freewill donation.
Tractors will depart from Royal and complete a trek across the countryside, before returning to the northern Antelope County village. For more information, contact Gary Ober at 402-340-0170.
Baked goods from area Amish families and root beer floats will be available during the family-friendly event.
A pulled-pork supper will be served from 5 to 8 p.m., in the village park. A freewill donation will be accepted.
Royal Roping Club will host a team roping event. Entry for the event is scheduled for 5 p.m., with competition to start at 6 p.m.
The arena features a few updates, including a new announcer's stand. The arena is located behind the old schoolhouse.
From 8 to 12 p.m., Whiplash R&J will provide live music in the Royal Bar & Grill beer garden, located at 3040 East Highway 20.
Classic rock and country songs comprise the show.
