Public input wanted on downtown roadmap

The Village of Clearwater will hold a public hearing prior to Monday’s board meeting to get public input on a proposed downtown revitalization plan.

Residents are invited to attend the hearing and share ideas to grow Main Street and downtown district.

The hearing begins at 7:30 at the fire hall meeting room.

Per the recommendation from Clearwater’s Economic Developoment Board, village officials approved, last month, to pursue a Community Development Block Grant, for planning purposes, for a DTR plan. The village is requesting $53,000 and will provide a $5,000 match.

Of that amount requested, $3,000 will be earmarked for grant administration.

The planning grant is the first step in the DTR process.

Once the planning process is complete, phase two involves implementation of project ideas, including, but not limited to physical improvements to existing structures, business retention and expansion ideas and development of a cohesive downtown destination.

For more information about DTR, contact Lauren Sheridan-Simonsen, Clearwater economic development director at [email protected] or 402-485-2101.
