Get ready to rock the weekend in Ewing

Plan on a totally tubular time in Ewing, this weekend, as the 2022 version of FunFest brings an 80s vibe to the Holt County community.

Events begin Friday, May 27, with a road rally scheduled to run from 5 to 7 p.m. Registration fee is $20 and will take place at DW’s Pub. The event is sponsored by the Summerland Advocate-Messenger and Ewing Young Members Club.

Hole-in-one qualifying runs from 5 to 9 p.m. This event will take place at the Summerland Golf Course.

At 9:30 p.m., a glow-in-the-dark shootout will begin at the golf course.

Activities begin at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, and continue throughout the day and evening.

Youngsters are invited to attend the ping pong ball drop, at 1:30 p.m., at the Summerland Golf Course.

Beginning at 2 p.m., a calcutta will start events at the Summerland course. The $10,000 putt for dough contest and $250,000 hole-in-one shootout will follow.

Golf events are sponsored by the Ewing Young Members Club and KBRX.

Feast on barbecues and all the fixings, from 5 to 7:30 p.m., at the United Methodist-Presbyterian Church.

At 7 p.m., Last Minute kicks off Saturday evening entertainment on Main Street.

Hairball will take center stage at 9 p.m. Tickets for the concert are still available at local vendors, at ewingsummerfunfest.com and at the gate for $20.

No refunds will be given. Coolers are not allowed in the concert area and identification will be required.

At midnight, a raffle drawing will be held for a Glock Model 19 Gen5 9mm, TriStar Setter 12-gauge over/under and Smith & Wesson M&P 15 Sport II 5.56mm with optic. Tickets may be purchased from EYMC members for $10 apiece or a book of 11 for $100. Winners need not be present at the time of the drawing.

Sunday events begin with a firemen’s breakfast, served by Ewing Fire and Rescue Department personnel, from 8 a.m. to noon, at the fire hall.

The grand parade will begin at 1:30 p.m., and the hall of fame presentation will follow the parade, downtown.

Albert Anson and Joyce and Alex Thramer will be the newest members of the village’s honorees.

Stop by the United Methodist-Presbyterian Church for a dessert social between 2:30 and 5 p.m.

Youngsters and the young are invited to visit inflatables at Schmidt Park from 2:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

The Summerland Bobcat football team will sponsor a corn-hole tournament, at 2:30 p.m.

At 3 p.m., Paul Daily, founder of Wild Horse Ministries, will host a round-pen sermon at the rodeo grounds.

Alumni festivities will begin at 5:30 p.m., at St. Dominic’s Hall. Social hour will start at 5.
