Communities plan Memorial Day services

Summerland communities will honor the men and women who gave their lives while serving the country, Monday, May 30, during Memorial Day services.

Clearwater American Legion Post 267 will gather at the Elkhorn River bridge, at 10:30 a.m., and the Clearwater Cemetery at 10:45 a.m.

Father John Norman will give the address. Music will be provided by the Summerland band and Curtis Bolling.

Ewing Sanders American Legion Post 214 will present its annual program at St. Dominic's Hall, at 9:30 a.m.

Dan Roeber, Summerland social studies instructor, will be the guest speaker. Emma Funk, Girls State representative, will recite a poem.

Post members will gather at the Elkhorn River bridge at approximately 10 a.m., and progress to St. Peter's Cemetery at 10:15 and Ewing Public Cemetery at 10:30.

Orchard American Legion Post 136 will meet in the Orchard Cemetery at 10 a.m., and present a program at the Royal Cemetery, at 10:30 a.m.

Page's Memorial Day Service will be held at the Page Cemetery, at 10:30 a.m.
