Reliable, Trustworthy Reporting, Capturing The Heartbeat Of Our Community
Marvi Pruden, RN, floor nurse, nursing supervisor and infection control director, is the 2022 Caring Kind Award winner of Antelope Memorial Hospital. She was recognized for the award on Wednesday, May 11, during National Hospital Week.
Each year, the Nebraska Hospital Association honors employees from hospitals across the state as Caring Kind employees. The honored employee must exemplify the spirit of someone who gives that something special to others.
Pruden was nominated and selected by her fellow AMH employees to win the award. Her nominations reflected the many positive qualities she takes to work each day. She has been employed at AMH for seven years as a registered nurse, working on the floor. A year ago, she began serving as a nursing supervisor. In recent weeks, her role transitioned into infection control director.
Pruden's nomination describes her as having an infectious laugh and positive outlook - even when times are rough or work is stressful. Her witty sense of humor and gentle demeanor make her someone others look forward to working with. Her main priority is to give her patients the best care possible. This is reflected by the way she treats them with respect. She's also confident in her abilities and not afraid to ask questions. She puts her patients at ease with witty banter and off-the-wall jokes. She truly has all the qualities of an exemplary nurse and caring and kind employee.
"I'm humbled and honored to be chosen for this special award – for what I enjoy doing," said Pruden. "I like to make people laugh and smile and to provide care for others. It's very rewarding and fulfilling.
"Plus, I love working here. I enjoy AMH's warm environment and the people I work with," added Pruden. "We truly support one another – it's like having a second family here at AMH."
Pruden and her husband, Joel, and son, Brandon, reside in Ewing. Brandon is a freshman at Summerland Public Schools.
Pruden's hobbies include spending time with family, reading and shopping.
This fall, the Nebraska Hospital Associaton will recognize Pruden and other Caring Kind Award recipients in Nebraska.
