O'Neill man sentenced to probation for false imprisonment

Jorge I. Hernandez Romo (aka Jorge I. Hernandez/aka Jorge I. Roma Hernandez/aka Jorge I. Romo), 28, of O’Neill appeared before the Honorable Kale Burdick in the Holt County courtroom in O’Neill on Tuesday, Jan. 4, for sentencing on a count of second-degree false imprisonment, a Class 1 misdemeanor.

Burdick sentenced the defendant to a nine-month term of probation for the July 7, 2021, crime, including probation fees totaling $255. He was taxed $60 costs of prosecution.

Originally charged with Count I, first-degree false imprisonment, a Class 3A felony, and Count II, domestic assault/threaten intimate partner, Hernandez Romo pleaded guilty to the amended Count I on Oct. 5 and Holt County attorney Brent Kelly dismissed Count II.

He was represented by Ashley Boettcher. Maria Chavez served as interpreter.

Amanda S. Lemburg, 31, of Atkinson faced Burdick for arraignment on two counts, no valid registration, a Class 3 misdemeanor, and no proof of financial responsibility, a Class 2 misdemeanor. Lemburg pleaded guilty to Count II, pursuant to a plea agreement. In return, Kelly dismissed Count I. Burdick fined Lemburg $150 and taxed her $50 costs. She was cited Nov. 26, 2021, in O’Neill. Lemburg waived her right to counsel.

Michael K. Keck, 35, of Johnstown pleaded guilty, by waiver, to a Class 1 misdemeanor, interfere with police radio system, committed July 2, 2021. He was fined $250 and assessed $56 costs of prosecution.

Justin J. Bahr, 48 of Osmond pleaded guilty, by waiver, to three counts: Commercial motor vehicle, no hour of service log, fined $100; overweight axle or group of axles, fined $25; and overweight capacity plates, fined $125. He was assessed $49 costs. Bahr was cited Oct. 25, 2021, at the Inman scale by a Nebraska State Patrol carrier enforcement officer.

Jared N. Wheeler, 25, of O’Neill pleaded guilty, by waiver, to an O’Neill city code violation, barking/offensive dog. He was fined $20 and assessed $49 costs for the Oct. 19, 2021, offense.

Dustin L. Wimmer, 33, of O’Neill pleaded guilty, by waiver, to an O’Neill city code violation, dog running at large. He was fined $20 and $49 costs for the Oct. 30 offense.
