The Board of Trustees of the Village of Clearwater met in regular session Monday, Jan. 10, at 7:30 p.m., in the fire hall meeting room. Meeting opened at 7:29 p.m. Notice of Meeting was given in advance by publication in Summerland Advocate-Messenger and notice was given to board members prior to meeting. Public was informed of location of Open Meeting Act poster.
Present: Kevin Filsinger, Kelly Kerkman, Mike Klabenes, Steve Hankla. Others present: Lauren Sheridan-Simonson, Kate Ahlers, Sheriff Robert Moore, Kyle Petersen, Cody Kester, Angie Hupp. Absent: Steve Stearns.
Approved regular minutes and treasurer’s report for December. Late water bills presented.
Approved moving up agenda item 13, sheriff’s report.
Approved $15,000 budget for emergency generator for lagoon pump.
Approved ERDBAU, Inc., claim of $6,775 for lagoon cell testing, pending USDA approval.
Approved Cornerstone Bank claim of $4,768.66 for loan interest, pending USDA approval.
Economic development report presented.
Approved $250 budget for community awards program.
Approved extending digital façade grant program for another year and reinstating façade grant program.
Approved digital façade payment of $323.69 to Blade & Bliss.
Approved transferring $323.69 from economic savings to economic checking.
Maintenance report presented. Approved reimbursing Kate Ahlers for pesticide recertification.
Library and park reports presented. Security cameras have been installed around park.
Approved waiving three readings of Ordinance 2022-1. Approved Ordinance 2022-1 setting wages for 2022 in one reading.
Approved 2022-2024 contract with Bud’s Sanitary Service for Village trash service.
Approved Kyle Petersen of Jarecki, Sharp & Peteresen as Village attorney for 2022. Approved changing regular monthly meeting time to 8 p.m. to accommodate Petersen’s other commitments.
Clerk report presented. Board moved February meeting to Wednesday, Feb. 16.
Old business: Rutjens working on putting line to house southwest of town.
New business: Klabenes will leave board at the end of March due to moving out of town.
Approved Orval’s Auto Service claim of $58.80. Hankla abstained.
Approved all other claims and payroll. Claims: $52,995.93; wages: $4,374.67
Meeting adjourned at 8:53 p.m.
