Mlnarik scores 18 in championship

Adyson Mlnarik scored 18 points and pulled down nine rebounds, leading Summerland to a 48-40 win over Tri County Northeast, in the Summerland Holiday Tournament championship game.

Summerland jumped to an 11-6 lead at the end of the first quarter, but the second quarter belonged to the visiting team. Tri County scored 20 second-quarter points and limited Summerland to half a dozen.

The Bobcats trailed at the end of the third quarter, 33-29 and played strong defense in the final stanza, outscoring Tri County, 19-7.
