NNTC GM elected to vice president of WTA

Northeast Nebraska Telephone Company's general manager, Pat McElroy, has been elected as vice president to the WTA Board of Directors. WTA, or Advocates for Rural broadband, represents more than 360 small, rural telecommunications carriers providing voice, broadband and video-related services in the United States.

WTA's members serve some of the most rural and hard-to-serve communities in the country and are on the forefront of bringing 21st Century telecommunications services to rural America.

WTA provides a respected national voice on behalf of its member companies, like NNTC, on Capitol Hill and at various federal agencies.

"As an organization, WTA is focused on addressing the issues faced by rural broadband providers. We, as companies, face challenges and need the support of one another to lobby successfully on the behalf of our customers to federal policymakers. It will be my honor to serve as vice president of WTA," said McElroy.

McElroy recently served on the board of directors of the organization for seven years.

WTA member companies have the experience and desire to ensure that Americans living in sparsely populated and hard-to-serve areas enjoy the same telecommunication services as those living in suburbs and cities.
