Runners gain valuable experience

While none of the Bobcat cross country team members earned a medal in Friday's O'Neill Invite, they gained experience for upcoming meets.

Coach Shannon Schumacher called the meet "competitive."

"Our kids came out and put forth a great effort against the strongest competition we have seen this year. We might not have been in the medals this time, but this team always comes out and gives it all. As a coach, that is all you can ask."

In the girls' division, Aubrey Parker finished 30th, crossing the line in 25:55.90. Ellie Dougherty placed 36th, running 26:36.40. Aislynn Kester ran 26:48.90, finishing in 40th place and Danielle Schrunk wasn't far behind. She finished 41st, running 26:50.80.

The Bobcats ended seventh in team standings.

Alex Thiele led the boys' team, finishing 37th, with a 20:46.40. Jesse Thiele crossed the finish line right behind his brother, running 20:53.70. Parker Napier ended in the 53rd spot. He ran 22:28.10.
