A full slate of activities is on tap, with events for all ages, during Page community day, Aug. 28.
The Frederick Cronk Memorial Trap Shoot will begin at 9 a.m. Signs will be posted, directing contestants and spectators to the event.
Kountry Korner Cafe will open at 10:30 a.m. and serve food until 4:30 p.m. Die-hard Cornhusker fans will be able to watch Nebraska take on Illinois on the big screen TV, starting at noon.
Youngsters won't want to miss the sand dig. Money and prizes will be up for grabs, starting at 11 a.m.
Registration for the kid's bike parade will take place in front of the fire hall, from 12:15 to 12:45 p.m., with the event slated to begin at 1.
Free watermelon will be served in Lamason Park, starting at 1 p.m.
Registration for the cornhole tournament will begin at 1:30, with bags tossed at 2. Slots for 16 teams are available, with $1,000 in prize money up for grabs. To preregister, contact Lori Ickes at 402-340-4438.
At 2 p.m., a three-on-three youth basketball tournament will be held on Bec's Court. Teams must preregister by contacting Bob Ickes at 402-340-6539.
Page Volunteer Fire Department will host a fireman's waterfight, at 2 p.m. A nozzle demonstration will follow.
A kid's obstacle course will be set up by the fire station for youths to tackle.
A cake walk is scheduled to start at 3 p.m. at the fire hall. Try your luck and win a sweet treat.
Classic cars will be on display from 3 to 6 p.m., along Main Street. For more information, contact Lyle Harvey at 402-340-8571.
Kids, find a turtle and start training it for the turtle races, which will begin at 4 p.m. near the fire hall.
The annual Community Day dinner will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Smoked pork, potato salad, baked beans and potato chips will be served for a freewill donation.
A raffle for homemade bacon will also be held, with proceeds benefiting the Page Volunteer Fire Department.
A quilt raffle will be held during the dinner. Raffle tickets may be purchased from Joni Isom. She may be contacted at 402-340-0924.
Test your knowledge by solving clues and snapping photos of your finds during the road rally, The rally will start at 6 p.m. and teams are encouraged to return by 8. The Summerland Advocate-Messenger will sponsor the event. Entry fee is $20 per team, with all proceeds paid back to the top three teams. SAM will sweeten the pot for the top team, with an added bonus.
KBRX will be in town for cruise night, which runs from 7 to 9 p.m.
Members of the Boy Scouts will cook and sell Dutch oven desserts, on the main drag, during the cruise night.
A kids' movie will be shown in Lamason Park, starting at 8:30.
The evening will end with a street dance, from 9 p.m. to midnight. Anita and the Pipe Smoking Charlies will play. A beer garden will be open. A $5 cover charge will be in effect.
Social distancing will be observed at events.
