The Honorable Mark Johnson, presiding from the bench at the Antelope County courthouse in Neligh, sentenced three individuals for felony convictions last Wednesday, June 30.
Travis D. Mace, 35, of Orchard faced Johnson for sentencing on two crimes committed Jan. 30 in Neligh.On Count II, possession of methamphetamine, a Class 4 felony, Johnson sentenced Mace to 18 months in an institution under the jurisdiction of the Nebraska Department of Corrections, with credit given for 143 days previously served. Mace was sentenced to an additional six months in prison on Count III, violation of a protection order, a Class 1 misdemeanor. The prison sentences are to be served consecutively. He was assessed $148 costs of prosecution.
Mace was remanded to the custody of Antelope County sheriff Robert Moore, for the purpose of execution of the sentence.
Mace pleaded guilty to the two counts April 28, pursuant to a plea agreement with Antelope County Attorney Joe Abler, who dismissed Count I, possession of a deadly weapon by a prohibited person and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He was represented by Antelope County public defender Patrick Carney.
Raymond Bringewatt, 31, incarcerated, no home address listed, appeared for sentencing on two counts, driving under the influence of alcohol, second offense, a Class 1 misdemeanor, and operating a motor vehicle to avoid arrest, a Class 4 felony.
Johnson sentenced him to 120 days in the ACJ on Count I and 140 days on Count II. He was given credit for 130 days previously served. The sentences were ordered to be served consecutively.
He was also fined $500, his driver’s license was revoked for 18 months and he was assessed $147 costs of prosecution.
Bringewatt was originally charged with nine counts.
He pleaded guilty to the twocharges per terms of an April plea deal, with Abler dismissing the remaining counts, obstructing a police officer, no proof of financial responsibility, no proof of ownership, driving during suspension/revocation/impoundment, speeding, possession of open alcohol container and refusal to submit to a chemical test.
Bringewatt, whowas represented by Carney, was remanded to Moore’s custody.
Mason R. Siems, 21, of Tilden, appeared for sentencing on two Class 2 felony counts, attempted possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.
Johnson sentenced Siems to an 18-month term of probation under the supervision of the Nebraska District 7 probation office, including related fees totaling $570. Siems was also ordered to serve 90 days in the Antelope County Jail, with credit for five days previously served. Two days were served immediately, with another two days ordered to commence July 2. The remaining 81 days are to be served at the end of probation, unless waived. He was assessed $147 costs of prosecution.
Siems was convicted in April, per terms of a plea deal with Abler, who reduced the Class 1D felony counts of possession of a firearm by a prohibited person. Siems was represented by Carney. He was remanded to Moore’s custody.
