Summerland FFA members and their families gathered Tuesday, May 11, to celebrate the chapter's accomplishments from the past year.
Contest award winners from the year were recognized, as well as year-end awards given out and the 2021-2022 officer team was installed.
Awards presented were:
Chapter Proficiency Awards - Ashley Melcher, second place, beef production-entrepreneurship; Madison Melcher, first place, beef production-entrepreneurship; Madison Melcher, first place, beef production-placement; Levi Cronk, first place, diversified livestock production; Morgan Erhardt, first place, equine science-entrepreneurship; Levi Cronk, first place, goat production; Madison Melcher, first place, veterinary science; and Levi Cronk, first place, wildlife production and management.
Scholarship awards were presented to Ashley Melcher, freshman; Cronk, sophomore; Madison Melcher, junior; Kaci Wickersham, senior.
Receiving leadership awards were Ashley Melcher, freshman; Cronk, sophomore; Madison Melcher, junior; Erhardt, senior.
Discovery FFA Degrees were given to Wyatt Anderson, Clara Ferguson, Tessa Janak, Carlee Livingston, Jason Shaver and Connor Thomson.
Five chapter members earned the Greenhand FFA Degree, including Cassidy Bearinger, Grace Maxwell, Ashley Melcher, Tessa Peed and Cody Wickersham.
Two students - Cronk and Taelyn Switzer, earned Chapter FFA degrees.
Honorary Chapter degrees were presented to Laurel Miller, Michael Tabbert and Karen Cronk.
Madison Melcher earned the Star in Agriculture Placement and Erhardt received the Star Chapter Farmer.

The 2021-2022 officer team was introduced. Serving in leadership roles will be Madison Melcher, president; Cronk, vice president; Bearinger, secretary; Dillon Moser, treasurer; Ashley Melcher, reporter; Cody Wickersham, sentinel and Logan Mueller, parliamentarian.
