Travis D. Mace, 35, formerly of Elgin, who has multiple charges pending in the Antelope County district court, was released from the Antelope County Jail after posting 10% of a $25,000 ($2,500) bond March 2, listing an Orchard address on the bond document that was filed by the court clerk Tuesday, March 9.
The Norfolk Daily News reported Tuesday afternoon that Mace was arrested in Stanton County on Tuesday morning, listing a Norfolk address. Mace is charged with bond violation, in addition to driving while intoxicated-drugs, theft by receiving, resisting arrest, possession of meth and prohibited acts (influence of illegal drug) there.
NDN also reported that Mace had to physically be subdued by (Stanton County sheriff Mike Unger) and a deputy, after he refused to cooperate and refused to take his hand out of his pocket and was later allegedly found to be in possession of several grams of methamphetamine and a stolen purse and credit cards taken from a vehicle in Norfolk on Monday night. Several laptop computers also were seized and believed to have been stolen from the Norfolk area.
A female passenger, Courtney Greening, 23, Norfolk, also was arrested on suspicion of prohibited acts and a bond violation, according to the NDN report. She was also recently released from the Antelope County Jail, after posting bondn Stanton County felony charges.
Mace appeared before the Honorable Mark Johnson in the Antelope County district court Feb. 24 for arraignment on four counts alleged Jan. 30 in Neligh.
The Antelope County charges include Count I, possession of a deadly weapon by a prohibited person, a Class 3 felony, and Count II, possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), a Class 4 felony, along with two misdemeanor counts, Count III, possession of drug paraphernalia, an infraction, and Count IV, violating a protection order, a Class 1 misdemeanor alleged the same date and previously heard in county court in a separate case. The county court case was closed, with the charges added to the counts under jurisdiction of the district court.
He entered not guilty pleas to all four counts. Johnson set pretrial hearing for April 28 and a jury trial on counts I, II, and III, May 17. A trial to the court, on Count IV, will follow the jury trial.
