The search for a new superintendent at Summerland Public School is on track, according to representatives from McPherson & Jacobsen, a consulting firm from Omaha, hired by the local school board, to coordinate the search.
Summerland board of education members will meet Feb. 3, at 7:30 p.m., at the Ewing site, to review comments from input groups, including students, staff and community members; examine interview questions and finalize candidates.
Alan Ehlers, superintendent of Madison Public Schools and a consultant with McPherson & Jacobsen, said a final count of applications for the position will be released during the Feb. 3 meeting.
“The board, working in committees, will review all applicants who formally applied for the Summerland position,” Ehlers said.
Candidates will be interviewed the week of Feb. 8.
Per the timeline approved by the board, selection of a new superintendent is scheduled to be announced Monday, Feb. 15.
