Bobcats earn first win of season

The Bobcats were in the win column this week with a good defensive performance against the Chambers-Wheeler Central Renegades, in a 53-20 win.

The teams met Dec. 21, in Ewing, in a game rescheduled from Dec. 4.

On offense, Keegan Smith led the way with a solid 15 points.

The Bobcats opened the game up with tenacious defense, shutting the Renegades out in the first quarter with their “impressive” press.

The second quarter saw more of the same from the Bobcats and they were able to go into the half up 24-5.

Smith opened the second half with two three-pointers to set the tone for another dominant half from the Bobcats.

Coach Brett Kaczor was happy with the win and his team’s performance. He viewed the solid win as a good way to get a lot of his players in a game for much needed experience.
