Reliable, Trustworthy Reporting, Capturing The Heartbeat Of Our Community
Holt County 4-H members and leaders were honored for their service and dedication to the program during an Oct. 11 achievement celebration, at the Chambers Community Center.
Pins and certificates were presented to individuals with one, three, five, seven, nine, 10, 11 and 12 years of membership.
Several leaders were recognized, including first-year leader, Brandi Morrow; five-year leaders, Jason Koehlmoos and Melissa Krysl, 10-year leader, Kelcey Shoemaker and 15-year award winners, Brenda Koenig, Shawna Mitchell and Maureen Pischel.
Three clubs - Brush Creek, Cloverdale and Up and At It - received community pride certificates for acts of community service performed throughout the year.
Brush Creek and Cloverdale clubs also received club of excellence recognition. To be eligible, clubs must meet certain criteria and document how the criteria was met.
Achievement application or record book awards and prizes are offered by the 4-H Council.
Clover Kids record book awards were presented to Caia Deseive, Camry Deseive, Beau Gotschall, Gretchen Miner, Lars Miner, Rebekah Olson and Annabelle Timmerman.
In the eight- to 10-year-old achievement application award division, Carson Deseive received a purple and was named champion. Trevor Timmerman earned a purple and was named reserve champion. Lynn Miner received a blue ribbon.
Cale Deseive was named champion and received a purple ribbon in the 11- to 13-year-old achievement application awards. Clair Krysl, received a purple and was tabbed reserve champion. Also earning purple ribbons were Elizabeth Olson and Hannah Olson.
In the 14-year and older category, Luke Olson received the champion award, earning a purple ribbon. Andrew Koehlmoos received a blue ribbon and took home reserve champion honors.
The Nebraska 4-H Diamond Clover Program encourages 4-H youth to engage in a variety of projects and activities that will enable members to acquire the life skills necessary to lead successful lives as competent, caring and contributing citizens. The program's overall goal is to provide 4-H members a rich and diverse learning experience. The program consists of six levels that require a 4-H member to plan and report a broad range of age-appropriate accomplishments. Receiving the follow certificates and pins:
• Level one - amethyst: Jaylynn Hoppe and T. Timmerman;
• Level two - aquamarine: Carson Deseive;
• Level three: ruby: Levi Cronk and Elizabeth Olson;
• Level four - sapphire: Cale Deseive, Cronk, Autumn Hoppe and H. Olson; and
• Level five: emerald: Lucas Olson.
Other award winners included:
• Friend of 4-H: Anson's Feed & Trucking;
• Outstanding 4-H alumni: Kylee Whitehill, O'Neill;
• Hearts of 4-H: Linda Olson, Atkinson; and
• Outstanding 4-H career: Logan Sanford, Inman.
