Knights win jousting match against Bobcats

The Bobcats could not find an answer to slow North Central's Dolan Pospichal, who was responsible for five Knight drives, in Friday's 52-14 loss.

Summerland scored first on a two-yard run by Trevor Thomson, but from that point on, NC controlled the game.

Paxton Smith took the ensuing kick, returning it 65 yards to even the score. The PAT failed.

Pospichal found the end zone for the first time when he scampered 50 yards, giving the Knights a 16-8 advantage.

Pospichal controlled the second quarter. He ran in from one yard out to give NC a 22-6 lead.

Next, he tossed a 33-yard pass to Ben Bruns for another six and ended the quarter with a 40-yard throw to Troy Reynolds.

Pospichal's pass to Bruns added the PAT to give the Knights a 32-6 halftime lead.

Following the break, Pospichal hit paydirt again, running 33 yards for another six points.

Zach Dickau added the only other third quarter score, sprinting in from 45 yards out.

Summerland's Thomson added the Bobcat's second score of the evening on a 30-yard break.

Colton Thiele converted the PAT.

Late in the game, Zane Vigoren stepped across the goal line on a one-yard push to finalize the Knights' win.

Summerland will meet Creighton, Oct. 9, in Orchard. The Bulldogs enter with a 5-1 record, while Summerland falls to 1-5 on the season. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m.
