Hewitt, Wickersham place in Bloomfield event

Two Summerland students participated in the Bloomfield High School Rodeo, Aug. 28 and 29.

Kylie Hewitt finished seventh in goat tying on Saturday, finishing in 9.030.

On Sunday, Hewitt placed eighth in breakaway roping, with a time of 3.590 and ended 13th in goat tying. She finished in 9.860.

Kaci Wickersham placed 10th in Saturday’s goat tying category. She completed her run in 9.42.

Wickersham also placed 11th in pole bending, running 23.222.

On Sunday, Wickersham ran 7.820 to place second in goat tying. In pole bending, Wickersham placed 11th, running 23.405 and seventh in breakaway roping. She completed her run in 13.6 seconds.

Three weekends of competition remain in the fall rodeo schedule.

On Sept. 5 and 6, competition begins at 9 a.m., at the Nuckolls County Fairgrounds in Nelson.

Broken Bow will host rodeo competitiors Sept. 12 and 13.

Indoor events will begin at 8 a.m., with outdoor events slated to start at 9.

Competition will be held at the Custer County Fairgrounds.

The Seven Valleys high school rodeo is scheduled for a 9:30 a.m. start on Saturday, Sept. 19, in Callaway.

Buffalo Bill Arena, in North Platte, will be the site for the final fall competition.

The Lincoln County rodeo will begin at 9 a.m.
