St. Peter Lutheran Fellowship Hall, in Orchard, will be the site for a blood drive, scheduled for Monday, July 20. Donations will be accepted between 10:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
Rita Shabram will contact donors to make appointments. She may be reached at 402-893-2691.
Donors may also make an appointment on the blood donor app or by visiting redcrossblood.org and searching for the Orchard drive.
Social distancing guidelines will be in place.
Appointments are preferred. Walk-ins will be accepted only if a time slot opens close to a donor's arrival time.
Temperature checks will be taken prior to entering the screening/donation area.
Masks will be required and provided, if needed.
COVID-19 antibody testing will conducted on all donations.
The COVID-19 antibody test used by the Red Cross is authorized by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and may indicate if the donor's immune system has produced antibodies to the coronavirus, regardless of whether they developed symptoms.
The Red Cross is not testing to diagnose an illness. Individuals who believe they may be ill with COVID-19 should not present to donate until they are symptom free for 28 days.
The blood donation process will not change. Donations will be tested using samples obtained at the time of donation.
Donors can expect to receive antibody test results within seven to 10 days of donation through the blood donor app or donor portal at RedCrossBlood.org.
Donors need to have a successful donation to receive the COVID-19 antibody test results.
