John Applegarth, 20, of O’Neill faced the Honorable Kale Burdick for sentencing April 7 in the Holt County courtroom. Applegarth was convicted of violating a sexual assault protection order, a Class 1 misdemeanor committed Sept. 7, 2019, in O’Neill.
Burdick ordered Applegarth serve 12-months’ probation, including 30 days in the Holt County Jail, with credit given for 23 days previously served; probation fees totaling $390; $60 cost of prosecution; and other standard terms of probation, with a couple of exceptions. The court granted permission for Applegarth to “be employed at Chesterfield West” and “to have contact with Breanna Storjohann and any coworkers, while at work.”
Kassandra R. Jischke Bowen, 37, of Chambers pleaded guilty by waiver and was fined $100 each on counts of driving under suspension, a Class 3 misdemeanor, and failure to yield right of way to an emergency vehicle, an infraction, both committed March 1. The waiver process was allowed following notification of Bowen’s license reinstatement. Bond, filed March 1, in the amount of $5,000, 10% cash, was released.
Jorge Chavez, 26, of Fort Morgan, Colorado, pleaded guilty by waiver to possession of open alcohol container, a Class 3 misdemeanor count committed March 28 in O’Neill. He was fined $50 and $49 costs.
