Family biographies wanted for Ewing history book

Planning meeting scheduled for March 25

Ewing Young Members Club and interested individuals are finalizing plans for Ewing's 150th anniversary celebration.

Activities for the annual summer Funfest are slated to begin Friday, May 22 and continue throughout Memorial Day weekend.

History book

A book about the history of Ewing, its people and places, is in the works for the village's sesquicentennial celebration.

A committee of area residents has been working on the publication, pulling items of interest from the 100th celebration booklet, newspapers and interviews.

Anyone interested in including their family history should submit it as a Word document to Doris Ann Bollwitt, at [email protected], no later than March 20.

Parade

A former Funfest tradition - a grand parade - will return to the weekend's lineup.

Anyone interested in having an entry for the parade may contact Chantelle Dempster at 402-340-6760.

Sponsorships

Sponsorships for weekend activities are being accepted. Several options are available.

Donations may be made in memory of a person or business. For a $100 donation, your name or family name, along with the name of the individual or business, will be listed.

A $250 donation will include the aforementioned listing, two concert tickets and a name listing on the event website, ewingsummerfunfest.com.

Please include years of operation if donating in memory of a business.

Planning meeting

The next meeting will be held Wednesday, March 25, at 7:30 p.m., at the Village Hall meeting room.

Anyone interested in assisting with the event is welcome to attend.
