Grebin tops field in two tech day categories

Clearwater industrial technology students attended the Niobrara Valley Conference tech day, Feb. 12.

Rafe Grebin earned two top awards, finishing first in the building construction and welding tests.

Colby Hupp finished first in computer aided drafting, while Lena Bolling ended second and Emily Ahlers, fourth.

The quiz bowl team, comprised of Grebin, Anthony Umphress, Hupp and Trenton Fletcher finished second.

In the high school airplane hang time contest, Grebin ended third and Umphress, fourth.

Christian Behnk won the junior high airplane hang time contest and Jesse Thiele placed fourth.

Kelton Bruhn finished second in the grades seven/eight metric 500 race. Behnk placed fourth.

Bruhn won the junior high woodworking hand tools test, while Behnk placed second and Thiele, third.

Ahlers finished fifth in the woodworking power tools test.

Fletcher finished fourth in welding.
