Individuals who prefer to submit an early ballot in the 2020 primary election may now submit an application to their respective county clerk's office.
According to the Nebraska Secretary of State's office, the first day to request an early ballot for the May 12 election was Jan. 13.
Counties receiving requests for early ballots will maintain a list, with ballots among the first mailed beginning April 6, according to Antelope County Clerk Lisa Payne.
In a press release, Nebraska Secretary of State Bob Envin said some counties keep a permanent early voting list. County officials contact voters on the list who indicate a preference to vote by mail.
In those counties, voters on the list will receive a postcard which can be used to indiciate whether they want to receive a ballot by mail.
Voters who reside in an all-mail precinct will automatically receive a ballot for the primary election.
