"We played really well at times on Friday night. Summer Schroeder had her best all-around game and was all over the floor making plays on offense and defense. We shot the ball fairly well and our mix of defenses was effective," Coach Greg Appleby said.

On Saturday, another good start was important, as Summerland led 22-7 after one quarter.

Balanced first quarter play was the key, with three-point shots from Madison Potter, Schroeder and Wagner helpong lead the way against the Boyd County zone.

Appleby said, "After that great start, our play was a little sporadic, really good at times and really inconsistent at times. There are areas of our game that we know we need to clean up to battle against the best in the NVC and the state.

Stallbaum paced the Bobcats with 21 points and 9 rebounds. Koenig chipped in 12 points and 7 rebounds. Schroeder added 7 points and Brenna Wagner had 7 points and 7 assists.

Appleby said Summerland will have tough games this week against two undefeated teams; at Stuart on Tuesday and at home, "against probably the best D2 team in the state" in Humphrey St. Francis and their star point guard, UNL recruit Allison Weidner.

"Should be a fun week of hoops before the holidays," Appleby added.
