Taking deer without permit costs Bertrand man $2,000

Dustin L. Langenberg, 24, of Bertrand pleaded guilty to a Class 2 misdemeanor count of hunting/possession of game without a permit, in Holt County. He was fined $150 and costs of $49, in addition to $2,000 liquidated damages for taking a deer without a permit Nov. 24.

Jared N. Wheeler, 23, of O’Neill was fined $100 and $49 costs for a Class 2 misdemeanor violation of Nebraska deer regulations Oct. 27.

J. Zechariah Stevens, 42, of Eagle was fined $500 and $50 costs for a Class 2 misdemeanor count of leaving the scene of an accident. The defendant requested permission to plead guilty by waiver to the Sept 10 offense, which was granted by the Honorable Kale Burdick in the Holt County Court on Nov. 18.
