Cougars claw through OC

On a seasonably warm September evening, the Cyclones couldn't get warmed up, falling to Central Valley, 56-6.

The teams met Sept. 26 in Clearwater.

The Cougars scored 16 points in the first quarter, with a 2-yard run from Jackson McIntyre and a 1-yard scamper from Enrique Martinez.

Both PAT runs were successful.

McIntyre hit the endzone once in the second quarter on an 11-yard run. He added the PAT to give Central Valley a 24-0 halftime lead.

In the third quarter, Martinez added another 6 points, following an 11-yard run and Kordaynian Thorin scooted 20 yards down field. Both PATs were unsuccessful.

Eli Macke started the fourth quarter with a 3-yard touchdown run for the Cyclones. The PAT failed.

The Cougars scored three times in the final quarter.

Carson Corman scored on a 12-yard run and threw to Morgan Behnk for the PAT.

Zandar Wolf added an 18-yard run, while Stetson Bottorf ran it in from 12 yards out.

Macke led OC with 102 yards on 29 carries and finished the contest with 155 all-purpose yards.

McIntyre led the Cougars with 68 all-purpose yards.

Colton Thiele was all over the field, finishing with 13 tackles, including one for a loss.

Trevor Thomson and Gage Switzer ended with 9 tackles each.
