After controlling the Boyd County Spartans 25-14 in the opening set of a Sept. 17 triangular in Clearwater, the Summerland Bobcats survived a second-set scare, scratching out a 25-23 win.
Brenna Wagner pounded 8 kills in the match, while senior towers Tiana Thramer and Sidney Stallbaum landed 6 and 4 kills, respectively.
In the nightcap, Summerland took control of a scrappy Creighton squad, dishing out back-to-back 25-15 wins.
Thramer found the line 9 times and nailed two solo blocks. Ashley Koenig added 7 kills and 5 digs.

The Bobcats move to 13-3 on the season after a 1-2 finish at the Sept. 21 Ord Invite.
In the opening round of pool play, Pleasanton defeated Summerland in three sets, 25-23, 11-25, 25-18.
Wagner ended with 10 kills and 10 digs.
Koenig scraped up another 19 digs.
Summerland defeated Ord, 25-10 and 25-16 to move into the consolation match.
Thramer and Wagner served two aces apiece.
Grand Island Central Catholic defeated Ansley-Litchfield and O'Neill to move into the championship round.
O'Neill downed Ansley-Litchfield in three sets, setting up a match with the Bobcats.
The Eagles claimed third place with a three-set win, 26-24, 21-25, 25-20.
Koenig pounded 10 kills and setter Kyra Nilson was all over the floor putting up 26 set assists.
GICC defeated Pleasonton, 25-21 and 25-17 for first place.
