Headed back to school in style

School is officially here, which means back to school shopping has also arrived. Ever wondered what another peer does for back to school shopping? Then you are reading the right article.

Maryssa Long, a junior at Clearwater High School, was interviewed to find out what kinds of things she does to get ready for the new school year.

To get things started, where's Long's favorite place to shop?

One of Long's favorite places is Burlington. This place is a must for her because Long can find quality items for lower prices. It also has a wide variety of items.

What types of things does Long look for when back to school shopping?

Things she tries to get are clothes, notebooks, pencils and whatever else she may need for the school year. Anyone who has ever taken a math or science class with Mrs. Miller, knows they will go through a lot of paper. Long stated while school shopping she tends to focus more on getting clothing. Long does this because there is not a lot of school supplies she needs to buy, plus she thinks buying clothes is more interesting.

Another thing Long has to decide while shopping is whether to buy more trendy items or more practical items.

Long says she prefers to buy more trendy items. Long does this because she likes to buy trendy things that catch her eye, for example stuff that has trendy patterns she is typically more drawn to. Another reason she likes to buy trendy items is to be able to fit in a little better with the pieces she picks out.

While shopping, Long tends to try to get more items for less money. For example, instead of paying $50 for a pair of jeans, she would rather spend the same amount of money on other things that she needs that she would be able to get more of. Things Long likes to buy are trendy outfits and lots of athletic shorts, since she's out for sports.
