Ewing students prepare for homecoming festivities

Ewing Public Schools will celebrate homecoming festivities, beginning Monday, Aug. 26.

Be on the lookout for creative costumes and decorative posters in the halls of EHS.

On Monday, students will don apparel from their favorite decade, while Tuesday's garb will include hunter and camo gear.

Opposite day is scheduled for Wednesday, with Thursday relegated as Bobcat Day.

Orange and black will be the predominant theme Friday, as Renegade gear will showcase school spirit.

Like their high school counterparts, elementary students will follow a daily theme.

Crazy clothes are on the schedule for Monday, while Tuesday will be hat or cap day.

Students will wear regular clothing on Wednesday and follow the Bobcat and Renegade themes on Thursday and Friday, respectively.

Each class will create a poster, which will be showcased in the gymnasium. Old Disney Channel television shows will be depicted in the class creations.

Friday's parade will feature class chants from elementary students, while high school students will decorate and ride on floats based on song titles.

Coronation will begin following the conclusion of the parade.

Senior homecoming candidates include Xavier Hobbs, Ashley Koenig, Connor Napier, Summer Schroeder, Tiana Thramer and Wyatt Wagner.

Freshmen attendants will be Dylan Barlow and Emma Funk.

Kolton McAllister and Charlie Anson will represent the sophomore class.

Dalton Rotherham and Brenna Wagner will serve as junior class attendents.

The annual snake dance is slated for 7 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 28. A pep rally and hot dog feed will also be held.

The Summerland Bobcats Volleyball team will compete in a triangular, Aug. 29, in Clearwater, beginning at 5 p.m.

On Friday, Aug. 30, the CWCE Renegades will host Hartington/Newcastle.

Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m., in Ewing.
