Shooting sports competition planned for Saturday and Sunday
Prepare for an "Oz"-some time at the 2019 Holt County Fair.
Shooting sports events, including BB gun, air rifle, air pistol and archery, will begin at 9 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 3, at the Holt County Fairgrounds in Chambers.
Competition in .22, trap, small bore pistol, and muzzle loading will be held Aug. 4, from 2 to 4:30 p.m.
The 4-H horse show will begin Tuesday, Aug. 6 and continue Wednesday, at 8:30 a.m. both days.
A lip synch battle is planned for 6:30 p.m., Tuesday. The popular ranch rodeo will take place in front of the grandstands Wednesday at 7 p.m.
The small animal show is scheduled for Aug. 8, from 9 to 11 a.m. Hog and sheep shows will also be held, at 9 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., respetively.
The beef show will begin at 8:30 a.m., Friday, Aug. 9. Bucket calves will be shown at 1 p.m.
Mid-states rodeo action will occur Aug. 8 and 9, beginning at 8 p.m.
A free-will donation barbecue will be held Friday at 6 p.m.
The 4-H dairy, dairy goats and rabbit shows will begin at 8 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 10.
Poultry will be shown at 9:30 a.m.
Saturday evening, plans include a demolition derby at 6:30 p.m., followed by the Dylan Bloom Band, in concert, from 9 to midnight.
