The Antelope County Fair is just around the corner. The fair starts Tuesday, July 30 and will end on Sunday, Aug. 4.
The fair will be hosted at the fairgrounds on the southeast side of Neligh.
On Tuesday, the fair will start at 9 a.m., with the 4-H/FFA dog show. It will be followed by the cat show at 10:30 am. At 1 p.m., there will be a small pet show.
Tuesday, from 4 to 7 p.m., is also entry day for 4-H favorite foods contestants.
Join the fun and games for all ages at Ag Olympics, at 7 p.m., in the livestock building.
Entry day continues Wednesday, July 31, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., For all 4-H/FFA exhibitors.
FFA and 4-H Livestock entries will be accepted between 4 and 7:30 p.m.
Team penning will be featured in the horse arena at 7:30 p.m.
On Thursday, Aug. 1, market beef need to be weighed before 10 am.
At 10 a.m., weigh in/ultrasound for swine, sheep, goats, and beef will be conducted.
Horse events begin at 11 a.m., with timed events, ground roping and working stock.
At 1 p.m., the 4-H/FFA dairy show will begin.
The Clover kids' bucket calf show will start at 3 p.m., Followed by the show for older 4-H members.
Registration for livestock judging will start at 5 p.m., With the contest scheduled to begin at 5:30.
Inflatable games midway will be open Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
Extreme bullriding, featuring Double S bulls, will begin at 7:30 Ppm., in front of the grandstand.
Sweet & Salty will play in the beer garden at the conclusion of the grandstand show.
Friday events begin at 8:30 a.m., with the second day of horse show competition. Judged events and trail competitions will be on display in the arena.
The rabbit and poultry shows also begin at 8:30 a.m.
At 1 p.m., small animal winners will participate in the round robin contest
Check out the goat and sheep shows in the arena at 2 p.m.
Country star Joe Diffie will play an 8 p.m. concert at the grandstand.
Afterward, Backroad Spirits will provide entertainment in the beer garden.
Saturday features more livestock shows with the sine show scheduled for 8 a.m., and the beef show at 11 a.m., or one-half hour after the conclusion of the swine show.
The large animal round robin showmanship contest will be held immediately following the beef show.
An antique tractor parade will begin in Riverside Park at 3:30 p.m.
At 4 p.m., see the best of the best at the livestock premium auction.
The Antelope County barbecue, sponsored by the Neligh Chamber of Commerce, will be held in Riverside Park, at 4:30 p.m.
A pie and ice cream social will begin at the same time.
Smash 'em fun will begin at 7 P.m., in front of the grandstands, when the annual demolition derby takes center stage.
The Jessy Karr Band will perform in the beer garden later in the evening.
On Sunday, Aug. 4, 4-H and FFA exhibitors can eat for free at the pancake feed, sponsored by Two Rivers Irrigation/Carquest of Neligh.
Breakfast will be served from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m.
An open horse fun day will begin in the arena at 10 a.m., and a church service is planned for 10:30 at Riverside Park.

Exhibits will be released, beginning at 2 p.m., with livestock released at 3 p.m.
All exhibits need to be picked up by 4 p.m.
Post-fair cleanup is planned for Tuesday, Aug. 6 at 6:30 p.m.
The beer garden will open at 5 p.m., the same time engines will roar at the MATTPA truck and tractor pull.
Round robin roping will also begin at the horse arena at 5 p.m.
