At the Feb. 13 Wausa Invite, Emma Hoffman finished fourth in junior varsity extemporaneous speaking. Julie Olivan received the sixth-place medal in oral interpretation of serious prose.     A motion to remove a mask mandate for Summerland students in preschool through third grade failed during Monday's board of education meeting. The vote ended in a 3-3 tie.     The sale of the Summerland - Clearwater site has been finalized. Principal Mike Sanne presented a purchase agreement , for $58,000, to the Summerland Board of Education, Monday, during the board's monthly meeting. The agreement with Educational Service Unit 8 was finalized Jan. 20. Per the agreement, the closing will be June 15.     One Summerland administrator and six educators submitted letters of resignation that were read during Monday's school board meeting, in Ewing. Mike Sanne, who has served as principal at Clearwater for 15 years, has accepted a position as superintendent of schools at Boyd County Schools.     Summerland Public Schools announced, Saturday, that district sites will have a late start two days next week. The district's notification system sent a message to district patrons at approximately 11:48 a.m., that classes on Monday and Tuesday will begin at 10 a.m., due to predicted dangerous wind chills.
