Summerland's volleyball team made quick work during a Sept. 13 home triangular against Boyd County and Creighton. In the first match, Summerland stopped the Lady Spartans, 25-11 and 25-15. Hadley Cheatum recorded 10 kills and three solo blocks in the match. In the nightcap, the Bobcats experienced a bit of deja vu, downing Creighton 25-16 in both sets. Misty Nilson is of the opinion that women should take their breast cancer screenings seriously, especially if they have a family history of the disease. The 54-year-old Ewing woman has been free of breast cancer for four years as of this October, which also happens to be Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
