On a typical Saturday during speech season, students can be found boarding a school bus before the break of dawn, traveling hours to reach a destination to perform. While the possibility of those early morning trips still exist, Summerland speechsters were able to arrive at Saturday's competition site within minutes of leaving home. Two Summerland FFA students will advance to state competition. Carlee Livingston and Levi Cronk advance to the spring event following district leadership event competition. With regrets, the Ewing Board of Education accepted the resignation of science instructor Krista Holliday during the Jan. 13 meeting. Holliday's tenure at Ewing begin in the 1996-1997 school year. In her letter of resignation, Holliday wrote, "It is with remorse and excitement I submit this letter of resignation.
