Orchard Village Trustees approved a $6,500 bid from John Prouty Construction for demolition of a house situated at 135 W. 3rd Street when they met Oct. 21 in regular session. Orchard residents will see an increase in garbage disposal rates when the next utility bill hits their mailboxes. Village clerk Brenda Harrison said trustees approved Resolution No. 1-15-2024, which raised garbage costs during its Jan. 15 meeting. The new rate, an increase of 12%, went into effect Feb. 1.
