    All remaining Nebraska School Activities Association activity practices and competitions, including district and state competitions, have been canceled for this school year. The organization made the announcement April 2. The cancellations are part of a new Directed Health Measure issued by Governor Ricketts. Bylaw 3.2.7 - summer activities - will go into effect May 26.     Graveside services for Scott Leisy, 34, of Atkinson were held Thursday, April 9, with burial in Woodlawn Cemetery in Atkinson. A celebration of life service is being planned for a later date.     Ewing Public Schools, as well as the three districts comprising Nebraska Unified District #1 - Clearwater, Orchard and Verdigre, will not be in session, amid concerns of the COVID-19 virus.     The Nebraska School Activities Association issued the following statement Monday, March 16: Effective Monday, March 16 all NSAA activity practices are suspended until Monday, March 30 and all NSAA activity competitions are suspended until Thursday, April 2.     Orchard school board members took no official action, other than consent agenda items when they met in the high school business room Wednesday, Feb. 4. Orchard principal Cathy Cooper told board members negotiations with the teachers’ association had been completed, with the 2020-2021 base salary for Summerland teachers set at $35,000.
