Ewing village trustees accepted the retirement resignation of longtime village clerk, Sharon Swails, during Monday's regular meeting at city hall. Another school bus will be added to the Summerland Public School fleet following action taken by the board of education when they met Sept. 11. According to transportation supervisor James Ramold, a new bus will need to be purchased in each of the next two years before the rotation can resume to a two-year cycle. Installation of Trimlight lighting along Ewing's business district hit a snag. Joe Kaup, owner of Trimlight Lighting, told Ewing village officials, on Aug. 19, "Found out the hard way, can't have a wireless network in the post office or bank, because of security rules, so that threw a major monkey wrench in my original plan." During its Feb. 12 meeting, village trustees approved a down payment to JTK Holiday Lighting for installation of lights on Nebraska Street businesses.
