This month, three career and technical education organizations at Summerland Public Schools have attended state conventions, giving students an opportunity to show knowledge gained in the classroom and compete in a variet of events. Four Summerland music students - Jennie Mejia, Lenora Kester, Raina Krebs and Jack Heim - represented the school, March 23, at Class C All-State Band, at the University of Nebraska-Kearney. Mejia, an eight-grade alto sax player, was fifth chair in the junior high band. Kester, a junior, was selected as fourth chair in the wind ensemble.
