Troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol removed 52 impaired drivers from the road during the Make It Click campaign, which ran from Nov. 23 through Dec. 1. Troopers arrested 52 drivers for driving under the influence and issued 44 citations for seat belt and child safety seat violations. Antelope County Commissioners approved hiring Brooke Kumm as the new 4H youth coordinator. Kumm will join the extension staff May 27, 2025, following graduation Commissioner Casey Dittrich asked what the starting salary is for the position. Nine road improvement projects were approved by Antelope County Commissioners, Oct. 1, following the one- and six-year road plan hearing. Highway Superintendent Brian McDonald said essentially the plan includes any new construction. Priority projects include two bridge replacements along the Antelope/Knox county border. In a long-running Antelope County court case that included many continuances while he was serving in the military, Julius Tauber, 22, was sentenced last week at the courthouse in Neligh for a crime committed Sept. 17, 2022. A March 6 crash, near Neligh, claimed the life of an Orchard man and injured another individual.
