One year after area schools featured virtual and socially-distanced graduation ceremonies, Summerland School superintendent Dale Martin said 2021 commencement exercises will not have restrictions. Summerland FFA chapter had numerous members compete at state FFA events this year. Events were held virtually at the end of March and beginning of April. Levi Cronk and Carlee Livingston qualified for state in junior public speaking and discovery speaking, earning a bronze medal and silver medal, respectively. Homecoming 2020 will have a different look for Summerland School. Each site recently announced senior royalty candidates and underclassmen attendants. Student Council Advisor Shannon Schumacher said coronation will take place at halftime of the Sept. 18 football game, which will be played in Orchard. A traditional parade and dance will not be held.
