Changes to the way Nebraska students learn about civics went into effect Sept. 1, revamping a law which originally entered the books in 1949. Three Ewing Public Schools musicians spent a month traveling Europe, as part of the Nebraska Ambassadors of Music program. Allison Schrunk, Hailey Rotherham and Emily Kurpgweit, accompanied by Ann Kurpgeweit, tourned seven countries and performed in various venues across Europe. In 1986, Christian Eggeling, of Germany, boarded a plane destined for the United States.
