Summerland's Lady Bobcats move to 13-5 on the season following two wins last week. On Sept. 29, Summerland traveled to Spencer for a match with Boyd County. Behind strong hitting by Brenna Wagner and Hadley Cheatum, the Bobcats defeated the Spartans in four sets: 25-23, 25-19, 20-25 and 25-11. Cindy K. Hauf, 58, of O’Neill faced the Honorable Kale Burdick last Tuesday, Sept. 8, for further arraignment on two Class 1 misdemeanor counts of third-degree assault. On May 12, the community of Ewing overwhelmingly agreed that they are ready for positive change. During the primary election, the citizens proved that by passing an economic development program and .05% percent sales and use tax by a margin of 109 for and 29 against. Ewing is now in a position to be more competitive in attracting new business and people to the community, as well as support the established businesses currently located in Ewing. The Ewing community churches will not be hosting the Sunset Banquet this fall due to COVID-19. The health and safety of senior residents is important and gathering together during this time is not advised. Church members said they look forward to resuming the banquet in 2021....
The Village of Ewing has been awarded a grant from the Nebraska Forest Service. The village will receive 10 trees to plant in the park. Conditions of the grant are that trees be planted on public land and some sort of educational or public outreach event must be planned around the planting.
