The Village of Ewing will receive 10 trees for the park project, after receiving a grant from the Ten Free Trees program, an effort of the Nebraska Forest Service and the Nebraska Statewide Arboretum. Village officials will plant trees Sunday, Oct. 2, at 2 p.m. Volunteer help is required to fulfill grant obligations. Ewing businessman Dustin Wright is the new owner of the former Ewing School property. Summerland School Board of Education members approved his $50,000 bid, Sept. 14, during the board's monthly meeting. Several cases that came before the Honorable Mark Johnson in the Antelope County district courtroom in Neligh last week were resolved by plea agreements with Antelope County attorney Joe Abler.
