Fifteen teams raised approximately $1,200 for the Summerland Bobcat golf team during the first Summerland Booster Club Tournament. A 45-mile cruise between Ewing, Orchard and Clearwater drew 15 teams to compete in the FunFest road rally, sponsored by the Summerland Advocate-Messenger and Ewing Young Members Club. Memorial services for Delbert “Sonny” Carl Jr., 79, of Ewing, were held Thursday, Aug. 1, at 10:30 a.m., at the United Methodist Presbyterian Church in Ewing, with Pastor Larena officiating. Visitation was Wednesday, July 31 from 5 -7 p.m. at Snider Memorial Funeral Home in Clearwater.
