The Honorable James Kube issued a bench warrant for Christopher B. Brady, 33, of Elgin, for failure to appear for sentencing in Antelope County District Court on Oct. 30. Brady originally was scheduled for sentencing on a charge of third-degree assault - domestic, a Class I misdemeanor, on Sept. 25, but was unable to provide a sample for a chemical test and admitted he would test positive for THC. Antelope County Commissioners approved hiring Brooke Kumm as the new 4H youth coordinator. Kumm will join the extension staff May 27, 2025, following graduation Commissioner Casey Dittrich asked what the starting salary is for the position. Installation of a new floating fishing pier recently was completed at Grove Lake Wildlife Management Area in Antelope County. The 60-foot gangway and 10-foot by 20-foot floating platform, with benches and rod holders, was installed on the west shoreline of the lake north of Royal. Nine road improvement projects were approved by Antelope County Commissioners, Oct. 1, following the one- and six-year road plan hearing. Highway Superintendent Brian McDonald said essentially the plan includes any new construction. Priority projects include two bridge replacements along the Antelope/Knox county border.
