Summerland's volleyball team made quick work during a Sept. 13 home triangular against Boyd County and Creighton. In the first match, Summerland stopped the Lady Spartans, 25-11 and 25-15. Hadley Cheatum recorded 10 kills and three solo blocks in the match. In the nightcap, the Bobcats experienced a bit of deja vu, downing Creighton 25-16 in both sets. Summerland’s cross country team was one of 14 competing in the high school division of Friday’s O’Neill Invite. The Bobcat girls’ team finished sixth in team standings, with 106 points. On Monday morning, a jury trial, for Danelle Charf, 47, of Neligh, was set for Oct. 17, but that changed in the afternoon. The deadline for pretrial motions, originally set for July 18, had been extended to Sept. 16, at the request of Charf’s attorney, Adam J. Sipple with Domina Law Group in Omaha.
