    Despite a 4% increase in valuation and property tax request, Clearwater village’s tax rate will remain at 50 cents. Board of Trustees members approved the budget and final tax request during a hearing held Monday at the fire hall. The village will request $61,691.59 in property taxes.     Cindy K. Hauf, 58, of O’Neill faced the Honorable Kale Burdick last Tuesday, Sept. 8, for further arraignment on two Class 1 misdemeanor counts of third-degree assault. Hauf reached agreement with Holt County prosecutor, Brent Kelly, resulting in an amended complaint for a single count, a Class 2 misdemeanor, assault by mutual consent.     The Village of Ewing has been awarded a grant from the Nebraska Forest Service. The village will receive 10 trees to plant in the park. Conditions of the grant are that trees be planted on public land and some sort of educational or public outreach event must be planned around the planting.
