    As summer draws to a close (where did it go?), so does the peak season for stone fruit. Stone fruits are a classification of fruits also know as drupes: They have a thin skin and a "stone" in the center, which contains the seed.     The Village of Clearwater will receive $221,000 from the Nebraska Affordable Housing Trust Fund to develop a housing project. Notification was received Thursday from the Nebraska Department of Economic Development. Approximately $12.8 million in awards will be presented in the 2021 cycle.   • Cross country teams finish fourth at Boyd County meet

    Summerland boys' and girls' cross country teams finished fourth in their respective divisions at Thursday's Boyd County meet. In the girls' race, Aislynn Kester ran 24:45, crossing the finish line in 11th place. Aubrey Parker ended 12th, 25:03. Danielle Schrunk finished just out of medal contention, finishing 16th.
